Former NFL player to donate sauce revenue to rehab facility
By Staff Writer
Many troubled teens turn to drugs to cope with the stress of school and family life, but a number of organizations are working to provide kids with alternatives to substance abuse. In an effort to support these groups, former NFL player, Andre Reed, recently announced that he will donate a portion of the proceeds from his new all-purpose sauce to a drug rehab facility for addicted children. Reed developed "Over the Middle," a sauce to benefit both chefs and families struggling with addiction, according to WIVB. The former football player plans to visit the facility with a team of "Over the Middle" supporters, where the money from his new product will be used to help troubled teens with drug dependencies. The "Over the Middle" sauce will be sold in small shops across Western New York, where Reed spent much of his career with the Buffalo Bills. Approximately 29 percent of public high school students say they can easily obtain illicit substances, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Drug rehab programs can help troubled teens who have become dependent on dangerous substances.
