Pennsylvania teen arrested for drug charges and hitting a police officer
By Staff Writer
Authorities in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania recently arrested Markeey Campbell, a 19-year-old boy, for drug charges, according to The Patriot-News. When the male was restrained by police, they said he hit one of the officers and argued with the others. Police said they were investigating a group of teenagers that they saw hanging around a vacant house when they saw Campbell throw a bag of marijuana towards the side of the home. When authorities tried to search the boy, he reportedly hit an officer with his elbow. Authorities told the news outlet that they found crack cocaine while they were searching Campbell. He was arrested for resisting arrest, aggravated assault and drug possession. The 19-year-old was also arrested in November for a reportedly injuring two teenagers in a shooting. His attempted homicide charges were dropped, however. Parents who have children that act in similar ways may want to research oppositional defiance disorder, which may explain their youth's actions. According to the U.S. Library of Medicine, this behavioral issue can cause resistance to authority figures, the inability to follow orders and spiteful actions. A therapeutic boarding school may help children and teens who have this disorder by giving them additional guidance and support.
