Schools for troubled youths can help manage teens with anger management problems
By Staff Writer
While it is normal for teens to occasionally experience anger, youths who allow the emotion to control their lives may be suffering from anger management issues, according to the American Psychological Association. This disorder can destroy a child's personal relationships, future career and quality of life if left untreated. For children who are expressing their anger in frightening or overly strong ways, there are a number of tactics parents can teach these youths. For example, parents can show them how to relax through deep breathing or yoga, according to the association. If various anger management techniques do not work, parents can research schools for troubled youths, which may be a suitable option in preventing emotional outbursts, such as that of Florida's Maelie Jean-Pierre. Jean-Pierre, a 19-year-old, was recently arrested for fighting with another teen, according to the Bradenton Herald. He reportedly struck the other boy with an unknown object at about 1:40 a.m. and removed the phone from his house. The victim managed to escape and run to a friend's house. He is now in a local hospital where he is being treated for head injuries, a broken arm and wounds on his right hand, the news outlet reports.
