Schools for troubled youths can help teens with anger management issues
By Staff Writer
The Mayo Clinic reports that teens who have anger management issues have many options when it comes to controlling their anger. For instance, they can practice relaxation techniques such as yoga or deep-breathing exercises. Another helpful tool is taking a time-out. If youths are feeling overly angry, they should remove themselves from the situation in order to calm down. Another option for teens who have anger management problems is schools for troubled youths. At these institutions, faculty members are trained to assist children who have behavioral or mental problems as well as give them academic support. Teens who do not get help for their aggression problems may suffer grave consequences. Florida teen Joshua Spalding knows this all too well. Recently the 18-year-old was arrested for assaulting a women and her child with a knife when she refused to date him, The Gainsville Sun reports. When police arrived at the scene, Spalding told them that he suffers from anger management issues and asked to be taken away. He was charged with child abuse as well as aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon, according to the news outlet.
