Schools for troubled youths may help control anger management issues
By Staff Writer
As most parents know, it is normal for teenagers to express anger. However, when this emotion becomes destructive and begins to control youths' lives, adults should consider that their children may have anger management issues, according to the American Psychological Association. Many psychologists believe that people who have anger management problems simply have a low tolerance for frustration. In other words, they feel that they should not have to deal with annoyances or inconveniences and can become aggravated if a situation seems unfair, the association reports. Parents who are unable to control their teens' emotions may find that they act out in overly aggressive ways. For example, a 17-year-old boy was recently arrested in New Jersey for reportedly stabbing a man in the back during a fight that got out of hand, according to My Central Jersey. When police tried to arrest the teen he allegedly resisted, kicking out one of the windows of the police car and damaging the door frame. Adults who believe their teens need support for their anger management problems may want to consider enrolling them in troubled teenagers programs.
