Teen reportedly vandalizes 14 cars after drinking alcohol

By Staff Writer

Although many teens view drinking alcohol as a casual social activity, many do not realize that its harmful effects can cause them to do damage to themselves or others. Currently, a 16-year-old teen in Florida is getting a first-hand look at how dangerous alcohol can be as she faces 17 felony changes and several misdemeanors for acts she did while she was drunk, Wink News reports.

The teenage girl reportedly vandalized 14 cars near a local high school, slashing their tires, destroying their interiors and writing obscenities on their exteriors. Among the vehicles was a brand new car that a local man planned to give his daughter for her 16th birthday. He told the news outlet that he was saving money for the car for years.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, teens between the ages of 12 and 20 consume 11 percent of the country's supply of alcohol.

Parents who believe that their teens have a problem with alcohol may want to consider enrolling them in schools for troubled youths. Help Starts Here reports that these programs can help students who have alcohol and other addictions.
