Twins overcome academic challenges
By Staff Writer
Ohio’s Ben and Jake Schultheis were born 14 weeks premature, both weighing less than two pounds, Cincinnati.com reports. For their first few years of life, the twins suffered from numerous surgeries and seizures. When they were old enough to enter school, the boys continued to have difficulty. IQ tests they were forced to take in the second grade put the twins in the 10th percentile. "I remember the school psychologist told me that this is not indicative of success in life. This is just indicative of success in school. I will never forget that," Jake told the media outlet. The twins did not allow their challenges to overcome them. Both boys recently graduated from Purcell Marian High School. Ben was the valedictorian and Jake was the salutatorian. The students plan to attend the University of Dayton where they will major in mechanical engineering, the news provider reports. Parents who want to give their children the opportunity to advance in their education may want to consider enrolling them in therapeutic schools. According to Help Stats Here, these institutions can assist youths who have mental and behavioral problems while giving them structured academic schedules.
