University-based research validates the effectiveness of outdoor treatment for youth struggling with behavioral problems or substance abuse.
If you want more for your teen - if you want to see your teen reaching their full potential - we are sure to have a program that can get them back on track for a brighter future.
Powerful Therapeutic Programs in Dynamic Settings
Each of our programs offers unique benefits and advantages for students. We will help you choose the right match for your child's specific needs. So whether your teen needs a short-term, high-impact wilderness experience or a residential program with accelerated academics, we are sure to have the right program for YOUR child. We have wilderness programs in New York, Texas, North Carolina, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, and Utah. Here are just a few of the choices available to families:
| SUWS Youth & Adolescent - Wilderness Therapy - Idaho - Ages 11-18 |
For 25 years, SUWS has been the leader in outdoor behavioral programs for pre-teens and teens. We were the first licensed wilderness program in Idaho. As a curriculum-based program, we are very successful with teens who have been slipping academically. If your teen has lost interest in school or confidence in his or her abilities, our challenging yet safe program will inspire them and re-ignite their passion for learning.
At SUWS, young people identify and work through internal conflicts and emotional obstacles that have kept them from responding to parental efforts, schools, and other interventions. Our students are inherently good and have the ability to be successful, but because of unhealthy misperceptions about themselves, they have limited access to their own abilities and strengths. SUWS allows teens to reconnect with themselves and their families.
We provide families with a safe and immediate intervention. Learn more about SUWS >>
| SUWS of the Carolinas & Seasons, North Carolina, Ages 11-17 |
Featured three times on Dr. Phil, SUWS of the Carolinas is a therapeutic camping program with a focus on clinical intervention and assessment. The program uses the outdoors as an alternative to conventional treatment environments, while engaging students using traditional therapeutic methods.
The wilderness setting removes modern distractions, simplifies choices and teaches valuable lessons. As a result, students begin to accept responsibility for personal decisions, address individual and family issues, and become invested in their character development.
